Here are the final paragraphs of my upcoming Friday column in Fort Collins Now.
As the father of a two-year old daughter, I am tremendously proud
of the fact that our first woman elected to national office might just be a
conservative who can govern a state, run a company, be a mom, gut a caribou and
challenge the establishment. My daughter
has the chance to grow up with a feminist political role model who doesn’t fit
the cookie-cutter definition of what the left decides is “feminism.” Instead of Hillary Clinton, we’re getting the
Margaret Thatcher of the American West.
A whole generation of Americans will look up to Sarah Palin
as the standard of what a woman can do. Maybe
that’s what scares the Democrats the most. Maybe that explains the fevered intensity of the attacks from the smear
merchants on the left and their all-too-willing enablers in the national
media.
